Every time I come back from the gym I drive pass a new block with shops and companies. I noticed that one of the shops was a vintage shop. The proceedings of the shop go to a charity for people with disabilities. I love vintage shops, so today I finally decided to check out the shop. The shop is massive! It has lots of great stuff like women’s fashion, men’s fashion, kids fashion, books, furniture, surf and sports clothes, new sunglasses, brick and brack, manchester and much more.
I saw some books I liked, but since I still have so many books at home that I haven’t read yet I decided against buying new ones. I did however buy an awesome Lorna Jane sports top. It was brand new and still had the tags on it. The retail prize is $44.99 but I bought it for only $7. What a great deal that was! They had a lot of great stuff from Billabong as well, but it wasn’t in my size unfortunately.
I’ll be definitely coming back to that shop on a more regular basis!

I love it when people are trying to make a statement through their fashion sense. Nothing is more boring than when everyone seems to wear the same thing. I have always made sure (and I still do) that my clothes are different from other people.
One clothing item that is perfect for making a statement - whether it is for a good cause or just for fun - is a t-shirt. Doesn’t it just totally brighten up your day when you see someone wearing a shirt with a funny text or picture on it? I know it puts a smile on my face.
If you like t-shirts with statements you should check out this site that I just found that sells funny t-shirts. They have funny shirts, political and political incorrect shirts, patriotic shirts, current events shirts, sports shirts, and many more. Basically anything you are looking for you can find on that site. You can even design your own shirt. They are very affordable too; only $14.99.

Not long ago I watched ‘A Current Affair’ on TV. On the show was a family who found a way to save thousands of dollars per year on their groceries bill. They bought everything in bulk. Now it is not a new concept. Everyone knows that when you buy in bulk that you can save money. But their case was quite extreme.
They bought massive amounts of veggies, for example a bag of 10 kilo’s of carrots, apples and other fruit/veggies. Just carrying in their grocery shopping would save a normal person thousands of dollars in gym membership fees. It was a big work out by itself.
After they had everything in the house the whole family worked as a team to unpack, preserve and stack everything thing up. Their garage was filled with bulk food, bulk toilet paper, bulk diapers, bulk cable, bulk pots with preserved food and bulk… well, everything!
I thought it was pretty amazing. They had been struggling to get to the end of the month at first and now they could actually save money. Even though I like to buy a lot of stuff in bulk, I am glad I don’t have to go to that extreme!

I remember that when my hubby needed new prescription glasses that we waited as long as possible to get new ones because we didn’t had the money for it. The lenses were scratched real bad, the legs were bent, he really needed a new pair. We managed to stretch it out until we went on holiday to Holland. In Holland we could get new prescription glasses for half the prize of the cost here in Australia. We even bought prescription sunnies at the same time because it was so cheap.
Recently I made a great discovery: www.ZenniOptical.com. At ZenniOptical.com you can get complete prescription eye glasses from only $8. And they come in a case too! They have a huge selection of stylish frames with all sorts of different type of lenses. Why didn’t I discover this online shop before? It would have saved us so much money and my hubby wouldn’t have to wait so long to get new glasses. The reason why Zenni Optical can sell their glasses so cheap is because they cut out the middleman and they have virtually no advertising budget.
Next time my hubby needs new glasses I know where to shop!
