Lately we’ve heard a lot about how much money the Olympic Gold medalists can earn by doing endorsements for products and companies. Now I think it is great for them that their hard work has paid of, but it kind of made me wonder about whether or not people would buy products just because it gets endorsed by their (favorite) celebrity.

One commercial for example about how to get rid of acne has Jessica Simpson, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Vanessa Williams in it. The product is pretty popular, but I kind of wonder if that is because it’s simply a good product or if it is because of all the celebrities.

Personally I don’t think I would let a celebrity influence me on what product to buy, but I’ve seen so many examples of people who religiously buy the same clothes the celebs wear and the products they endorse. What about you? Do you let a celebrity influence you when buying a product?
