Anyone with an addiction of any kind needs support and kindness to encourage quitting, and I truly believe that some people just have "addictive personalities." Those are the ones that have to fight the hardest. I hate smoking, too. It's ugly and smells, it's a slavery, it's expensive, and it kills people. Nothing nice or redemptive about it! I hope your husband will soon be enjoying good health! I know your support will go a long way in helping him find it. My father went through alcohol rehab last year, he is now 15 months sober and a changed man. He still struggles though, and he has yet to give up smoking. My husband does not have addictions but he does have health issues that cause me great concern...he still won't listen and let the doctors do what they need to.
