Welcome to Australia (2)
This is part 2 of Welcome to Australia.
The next morning I was pretty hungry and thirsty; I had nothing to eat or drink since I had gotten off the airplane. When I got out of bed the first thing my in-laws did was hit me up for money. I had given them a carton of smokes (worth about $70) as a thank you for picking me up from the airport but they wanted another $50 for fuel. I almost regretted that I had given them the carton of smokes. Then they wanted money for this and money for that, etc. I was almost cursing at my hubby for owing them that much money and not telling me about it. When I later that day told my hubby about it he almost exploded from anger because he did not owe them the money I had paid them. They had tricked me.
After ending up broke I was ready for breakfast, but I didn’t even get the chance to eat or drink anything because they wanted me to pick up my hubby’s car at the hospital where the ambulance had brought him to. My hubby’s friend and co-worker had parked the car there and given the brother-in-law the keys. So my hubby’s brother dropped me off at the hospital in a town I didn’t knew and again he wanted to leave me there. I got pretty mad and told him I didn’t know how to get to our house. Didn’t he understand I was coming from a different country and therefor didn’t know my way around? So after a bit of argument he decided to drive in front of me to show me the way home.
When I finally got to our house my brother-in-law dissappeared immediately. There I was; tired from the trip, sad about my hubby’s accident and all by myself in a new country. Welcome to Australia!
