Phew… I can tell that autumn has arrived. Even though you can still wear shorts and a t-shirt it is getting colder. At night time I feel like turning on our electric heater and wearing a beanie in the house. Yes, I am a wuss - I admit it. I guess I am just spoiled here in Australia. I bet my Dutch family would be laughing their heads off if I complained about the weather. I can already hear them saying: “Cold??? Did you forget how cold it gets over here? And you have the nerve to say that 20+ celsius is cold?”
I wish I was living close to the beach again, so that at the first sight of a sun ray I could soak up the sun. In our previous house we lived approximately 200 meters of the beach and it was wonderful. Now it’s at least a 25 kilometer ride. Oh well, one day I will own a house near the beach (I can always dream right?). Maybe a Wilmington real estate? Nah… I want to stay in Oz.

When it comes to clothes I am not much of a girly girl. Usually you will see me walking around in simple bell-bottom jeans and a black tank top. I don’t spend much time shopping, in fact I can’t even remember when I had a shopping spree and bought myself some nice new clothes. Lately all I’ve been doing is going to vintage shops and buy clothes if I really, really need it.
I absolutely love Gothic clothes and corsets. I’ve already got a bunch of Gothic clothing from the brand laughing vampire, but till this day I have never bought a corset. Mainly because I think they are too expensive to buy. There’s a shop in town here that sells them for $150 or more. But… I have found a website called lingeriediva.com that sells corsets for a reduced prize. They are about less than half of what I see them in the shops for. And now I am so tempted to buy one. The only problem is that you can’t fit them before you order.
Today it is Anzac Day in Australia and New Zealand. During Anzac Day we remember the members of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) who landed at Gallipoli in Turkey during World War I. There are a lot of ceremonies through out the country and even in some places overseas.
Since it is a public holiday day we have a long weekend. Everything is closed and every one seems to have plans to get away for the weekend. Unfortunately my husband and me are going nowhere. Maybe, if hubby feels up to it we’re gonna play a game of poker up the coast tonight.
Other than that I’ll probably be surfing around the net to find some cool new blogs, drop a few extra Entrecards, finally file my paperwork (bank statements, life insurance papers, letters from lawyers, etc.) into different folders, and do some housework.
Sometimes something small happens during your day that can have a huge impact on your mood. For me that something was “Lunch with Pearl Jam” on the Max channel. Lunch with Pearl Jam was an hour filled with lovely Pearl Jam music. As you might know Pearl Jam is one of my favorite bands and listening to their music brings back a lot of memories. So seeing all those Pearl Jam video’s was GREAT!!! It totally made my day. I turned up the volume of the TV, sing along as loud as I could and now I just feel so much better.
Since it really lifted my spirits I decided to post a video of Pearl Jam singing one of my favorite songs at a concert I went to (the concert was awesome by the way). Hope you will enjoy it as much as I do.
I do not like the mail man anymore. Nothing personal, but lately it seems like he’s only bringing negative stuff to my house; bills, letters from lawyers, bank statements, etc. And I am getting sick of it… Why can’t he just drive passed my house without throwing anything in it? Or, if he really needs to drop something in the mailbox, a nice postcard or something.
I just opened up a letter from the real estate. Our rent is going up again. For the second time in a year and it’s pissing me off. It’s not like the owner of the house makes any improvements to it or anything. When we moved in the real estate said that there were a few things that needed to be done to the place like getting new carpets, new shower faucets, a lock on the shed and carport door, etc. But a year later and nothing has been done, except for raising the rent.
Someone, tell me some good or funny news because I need it.
