Apple cake is healthy!?!

The last couple of months I have changed my eating habits. I have simply decided that my body is worth it to feed it with nutritional food instead of junk food. I try to eat as much non-processed food as I can (in controlled portions of course). Unfortunately hubby isn’t ready  (yet) to follow my example.

Tonight he was eating half an apple cake.  I was slightly disgusted by it, but he thought that it was delicious. He offered me the other half. When I declined because I said I only want to eat healthy food he said: “You can have a piece. Apple cake is healthy!” I replied: “No it’s not!” To which he replied: “Yes it is, it has apple in it!”

Yeah, 10 gram of apple and heaps of sugar and fat…

Properties or a backpackers?

As you know my hubby has had a work accident and I mentioned ages ago we are suing his former boss because the accident could have been prevented if they had the safety guards on. I can not begin to explain what a huge impact it has had on our lives and how it also has been difficult financially. Our case against the former boss is a 100% win case, all that is left is to decide how much compensation my hubby will get. They have been taking to court by work, health and safety as well and they got hammered in court.

Lately we have been thinking a lot about what to do with the compensation money once this whole thing is behind us. We would like to invest the money wisely. At the moment we are looking at two options; investing it in real estate or start up a backpackers which has been a long time dream of ours. If we start our own backpackers my hubby could manage the place because he has managed one before. I know it will be a full-on 24/7 business though.  Investing in properties would be good too, because you can rent the properties out and still get a job beside it.

Whatever we will do, I will have to talk to mortgage lenders and see what the best options are for us. Until then we have some more time to think about it.

MotoGP season is on the way!

So this morning the first race of the MotoGP season was finally on. I got up at 2.45 am to watch the entire show and all the races. MotoGP was making history with the first ever night race under lots (and I mean lots) of flood lights.

MotoGP world champion Casey Stoner took the lead after approximately 8 laps and never looked back. Rookie Jorge Lorenzo finished second in front of Dani Pedrosa. My favorite Valentino Rossi finished in 5th position. He did lead the race at one stage, but he was struggling later on as the set up of the bike made him struggle in the second part of the race. But he fought hard and had a good race nevertheless.

Now I have to wait another 3 weeks before the next race in Jerez, Spain. I can’t wait!!!

Random notes

I am counting down the hours and minutes until the first race of the MotoGP season is on TV. I am so happy that the long wait is over! Jorge Lorenzo is on Pole Position, who would have thought that? Valentino Rossi is in 7th position on the grid, but I am confident that he will kick some butt in the first night race ever in Qatar. Can’t wait for the race to start (even though the first race starts at 3.30 am).

I finally done it! I have removed Google Adsense from all my sites. It used to be a great earner for me. It has paid several bills and groceries. But the earnings went down and down while the clicks stayed the same. I went from earning $300 per month to $50 in the last two months. Now that they’ve come up with new rules that forces you to write a privacy policy I thought it was the perfect time to quit. I have enough of making Google’s profits bigger, while my earnings are getting smaller each month.

Have a nice weekend

It’s finally weekend again! Yesterday would have been a perfect day to go to the beach. Instead my hubby had to go to a medical appointment and on the way back we got stuck in traffic. So I was hoping that we would go today, but it is a bit more cloudy now and hubby doesn’t feel like he’s up for it.

So plans have changed. We’re going over to one of our friends who’s gotten hold of a barebones computer. He wants to build his own PC and I am going to bring some programs he might enjoy. We’ll probably have a BBQ afterwards.

What are your plans for the weekend?
