Scrapping

One of my hobby’s is scrap-booking, or maybe I should say scrapping because I like to make all sorts of stuff from left-overs; scrapbooks, cards, boxes and much more. Since I am on a very small budget lately I have mainly done digital scrap-booking, but every now and then I still like to make the ‘real’ thing.

Whenever there is an occasion I like to make hand-made cards to send to my family and friends. I’ve been told a couple of times that I should start selling the cards that I make, but sometimes the supplies are expensive or I just don’t have enough left-overs or other stuff to make a lot of cards. Anyway, with all the new babies in our family I’ve been creative the last few weeks to make new cards.

It was a heap of fun, except for one little thing; I cut myself in my finger. Not a little cut, no a pretty deep cut that will probably leave me a nice scar. Hubby panicked straight away when he saw the blood. I felt sorry for him, because I am sure he got flashbacks of his own work accident where he lost two fingers. So to make him feel a bit better I have bought safety cutters that have a safety spring for automatic blade “shoot-back” into the handle in response to an uncontrolled movement. They’re pretty cool cut knifes and it just makes me want to make more cards. If only I had more material to work with.

I have all of the stuff I need to do a scrapbook of our wedding…that was back in 2005. I’m a little slow.

Actually, when my boss goes away in June, my co-worker and I are going to put the scrapbook together, since she’s a whiz at doing those things. Her books are AMAZING to look at!

I love scrapbooking myself. I refused to use a craft knife, I always use a paper trimmer. I used to work in a pharmacy & I cut my finger really bad with one of those box cutters. They are too close to craft knives, so I try to avoid them.
