Apple cake is healthy!?!

The last couple of months I have changed my eating habits. I have simply decided that my body is worth it to feed it with nutritional food instead of junk food. I try to eat as much non-processed food as I can (in controlled portions of course). Unfortunately hubby isn’t ready  (yet) to follow my example.

Tonight he was eating half an apple cake.  I was slightly disgusted by it, but he thought that it was delicious. He offered me the other half. When I declined because I said I only want to eat healthy food he said: “You can have a piece. Apple cake is healthy!” I replied: “No it’s not!” To which he replied: “Yes it is, it has apple in it!”

Yeah, 10 gram of apple and heaps of sugar and fat…

It’s how I justify my love of carrot cake. Plus it has nuts.

Apple cake? Just thinking about it is turning my stomach. Why would someone make something like that much less eat it?

Don’t you just love how men seem to forget there’s fat, calories, and sugar involved when something has fruit in it?

“Here, hon! Try this blueberry cake! It’s got fruit in it!”

“And more calories than I’d care to consume in one day, you know…”

The bottom line is to get foods that are low in carb :)

It doesn’t sound very appealing… But my husband does the exact same thing. He makes up the craziest reasonings for why the junk he eats should be considered healthy.
