Save some money - Buy in bulk

Not long ago I watched ‘A Current Affair’ on TV. On the show was a family who found a way to save thousands of dollars per year on their groceries bill. They bought everything in bulk. Now it is not a new concept. Everyone knows that when you buy in bulk that you can save money. But their case was quite extreme.

They bought massive amounts of veggies, for example a bag of 10 kilo’s of carrots, apples and other fruit/veggies. Just carrying in their grocery shopping would save a normal person thousands of dollars in gym membership fees. It was a big work out by itself.

After they had everything in the house the whole family worked as a team to unpack, preserve and stack everything thing up. Their garage was filled with bulk food, bulk toilet paper, bulk diapers, bulk cable, bulk pots with preserved food and bulk… well, everything!

I thought it was pretty amazing. They had been struggling to get to the end of the month at first and now they could actually save money. Even though I like to buy a lot of stuff in bulk, I am glad I don’t have to go to that extreme!

I don’t mind buying in bulk certain things. But anything I have to come home and put work into to preserve it, no thanks. I will stick to toilet paper and cheez its!
