28th of January

Today it is exactly 9 years ago that I first set food on Australian soil. I had come to Australia with a working holiday visa and lots of excitement to go explore this beautiful country. It didn’t take long for me to fall in love with this country.

I traveled around Australia for about a year and met my hubby half way through the trip in a backpackers while I was working at a farm sorting out tomatoes in a shed.  At the end of my visa the both of us flew back to Holland.

Today it is exactly 3 years ago that I moved to Australia. I have been here for three years now and I can’t believe how quickly time is flying by.  We’ve had a lot of rough times, but we’ve always been strengthened by the thought that we were together and together we can pull through anything.

Today it is also Australia Day. I would like to wish all Australian readers of my blog a happy Australia day and I hope you’ll have lots of fun today!

I married an Australian, too! My hubby and I married last March on a Saturday in America, flew to Brisbane from Chicago the next day, and arrived 16 or so hours later…off on our honeymoon! I celebrated my first Australia Day! Hooray! I’m really enjoying myself here in this new land. It’s so different and wonderful! I hope you visit my blogs:
