What inspires you?
It has always been of great interest to me what inspires people. Why do people do the things they do? Or where do they get the inspiration from to start a website or blog and write an absolute magnificent article?
What inspired me to make my websites? I guess it was my passion for the topics of my websites. My number 1 site is entirely dedicated to one of my biggest sport heroes. I get never tired of writing about him. His victories, his character and his style are a big inspiration to me. My number 2 site, well, to be honest I’ve wanted to shut that site down for a while. After it got hacked and everything was deleted I didn’t want to put it back up, but basically the visitors bombarded me with emails and convinced me to put it back online. So with that one it’s more the passion of the visitors that inspired me to keep going.
In the begin stages, when I was exploring html and everything that came with it, I even had a site about the band Silverchair, but after seeing them live I thought the singer acted like GayLord Focker (no offense to anyone) and the thousands of 12 year old Paris Hilton wanna be’s screaming in my ear made me decide that I did not want to spent anymore time on it.
To be short, what inspired me to make websites have always been my passions. What inspires you to make a website or blog? Is it something you are passionate about or is it just to make money (you can be very passionate about this of course)?
What inspired me to make this blog? Well, to be honest, I had this domain laying around and decided to make a bit of a journal about how my online earnings were going. I love to read other blogs about quests to make money online and thought: why not?
What inspires me in ‘real’ life? It can be anything really. My husband who’s lost 2 fingers and is in enormous pain, but who has a more positive outlook on life than me. It reminds me that no matter how cloudy things can look, there’s always a ray of sunshine peeking through. Books by Louise L. Hay about how you can change your life. It reminds me that life is really what you make of it. Michael Phelps winning 7 gold medals at the World Championship Swimming, reminding me of how much I miss my work as swim instructor/coach (back in Holland) and making me decide to use my adsense earnings to follow 2 courses to become a swim instructor/coach in Australia. I am a fully qualified swim instructor/coach in Holland, but in Australia they don’t give a rat’s ass so I have to do a lousy 1 day and 2 day course to call myself ‘qualified’ over here. And there are many more things that inspire me.
My point is that inspiration is everywhere, but it is you that decide what to do with it. I would love to hear what inspires you. Leave me some words of wisdom!
