New look for Google Ads
For the last couple of weeks I noticed that sometimes I was getting a different look of Google ads on my site. It wasn’t on a regular basis, but just every now and then they popped up. I figured out that Google was testing how the new look performed and I was right.
The official blog of Google Adsense: Inside Adsense, reports that they have given their standard ad units a fresh, new look. According to their extensive research and testing this new look performs better for publishers and advertisers. Google also hints that in the future they may have more format options!

In the next few days all standard ads should have the new look. It is not possible to keep the old look. Of course the colors and fonts will stay the same, so you don’t have to update anything.
Do you like the new look better or do you prefer the old look?

The new look is “smoother”. Monitisers might want to consider how the colour / design combo effects clicks.
